Kurly Feature: Freda Fro

1 How long have you been natural?
-I've been natural for a little over 2 years

2 Was there anything that influenced you to go or stay natural?
-Nothing influenced me to go natural, it was more of an accident. I did stay natural because I love the look, and I used to have insecurity issues, but I feel like my natural hair has definitely given me a boost.

3 What do you think about the Natural Hair Movement?
-I honestly love and support it,  and don't believe it's a fad like some others do.

4 From personal experience, I've heard that natural hair isn't professional. What are your thoughts?
-I personally have never had an issue with my natural hair when it came to a professional

5  Do you believe that the natural hair movement is a fad?
-nope

6 What problems do you experience as a natural?
-I do experience a lot of tangling, which I guess is normal since I often wear my hair in loose styles.

7 Do you have a hair regime, if so what is it like?
-I co-wash my hair in 6-7 sections using Silkience Silky-Smooth Moisturizing Conditioner, I generally finger detangle, but when I'm in a hurry I use a wide tooth detangling comb. After washing, I dry my hair with a T-shirt, apply the same conditioner I use to co-wash then seal it in with my shea butter mix or crisco shortening. Once a week I deep condition my hair with my diy palm oil mix(recipe can be found on my blog). Every now and then I do test out products for review purposes and end up using a shampoo.

8 What would you tell someone who wanted to go natural?
-I would say be patient, and if you do big chop/transition, enjoy those phases and experiment with different styles, because once your hair gets longer, you might miss it.

9 What would you like to do with your hair in the future?
-Right now, I'm focusing on keeping it healthy, but in the long run, I want to see how long I can grow it, then probably big chop again.
